He is often seen with camera in hand at special events during a unit training assembly here at Joint Base Charleston, but like many reservists he also has a full-time civilian job during the week. Senior Airman Bobby Pilch is a public affairs specialist here at the 315th Airlift Wing.

But at his "day job" he is the government & city-wide sales manager at Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, and this week, Pilch was selected as one of Charleston's top 40 business professionals under 40 years old by the Charleston Regional Business Journal.

At the Charleston AreaCVB Pilch markets the Charleston area to capture city-wide conventions, meetings and conferences. He also assists meeting planners and various group opportunities with their site selection and local resources when coming to the Charleston area to host their program.

"The 40 Under 40 Award is a very prestigious award and we are all very proud of Bobby's accomplishments," said Maj. Wayne Capps, 315 AW public affairs officer.

The award will be presented by the Charleston Regional Business Journal on Thursday, April 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant. Pilch will be featured in the April 21 issue of the journal.

Every year since 1998 the Charleston Regional Business Journal seeks a group to become recipients of the Forty Under 40 award. This elite 40 is comprised of people under 40 years of age who have excelled in the professional arena and in community involvement, according to the CRBJ.
