Due to the government ongoing shutdiwn, 315th Airlift Wing commander, Col. James Fontanella cancelled the wing's monthly Unit Training Assembly, or drill weekend for all Air Force Reservists assigned to the unit.

The cancellation affects more than 1,400 reservists scheduled to conduct training this weekend.

The wing will continue its wartime taskings and activities that were granted exception under the Pay Our Military Act.

Due to the training cancellation, nearly 450 local hotel rooms were cancelled for a loss of
more than $66,000 in local hotel revenue.

The drill weekend was previously scheduled for Oct. 5-6, 2013 and was rescheduled to
Oct. 19-20, in hopes of an appropriations bill.

More details will follow as they become available.
