Two dead in shooting at Lackland; terrorism not suspected Published April 8, 2016 By Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas (AFNS) -- Two people were killed in a shooting April 8 at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Medina Annex, sparking an active shooter alert on base. There are no indications that this was a terrorist attack. Base first responders and local authorities have contained the scene and an investigation of the incident is underway. Names of the deceased are not being released pending notification of next of kin. A press conference will be held at the JBSA-Lackland Medina Base Road Gate at 11 a.m. CST with Brig. Gen. Bob Labrutta, Joint Base San Antonio and 502nd Air Base Wing commander, along with officials from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. More details will be released as they become available.
