Lt. Col. Steve Campbell takes command of the 701st Airlift Squadron

Lt. Col. Steve Campbell took command of the 701st Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, from Lt. Col. Ronnie Schier in front of members of the 315th Airlift Wing, friends and family here and via Facebook live in front of 416 viewers to help adhere to social distancing guidelines Sept. 2, 2020.

“I can’t begin to describe how excited I am to serve you in this new role,” said Campbell. “I am here to serve you.”

Col. John Gurrieri, 315th Operations Group commander, officiated the change of command ceremony.

Campbell previously served as the Assistant Chief Pilot for the 701st Airlift Squadron.

Schier is going on to be a Joint Planner at the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command.
