    The 315th Airlift Wing commander is happy to announce three wing officers have been selected for promotion to colonel in the latest officer promotion round.
  • AFRC's Profiles in Leadership Volume IV highlights Citizen Airmen

    Air Force Reserve Pentagon display highlights Reserve Citizen Airmen. The fourth edition of the Air Force Reserve Profiles in Leadership featuring 16 Reserve Citizen Airmen, went on display in the Pentagon Dec. 14, 2018. This year’s display includes the first woman F-35 wing commander; a driven Senior Airman who developed a life-saving class for her native country of Ghana; and a First Sergeant and city detective who is building bridges with the Tampa Bay community. The display continues the tradition of honoring Reserve Citizen Airmen and civilians who make significant contributions to their communities and the nation. Visitors to the Pentagon can view the displays on the Fifth Floor, A-Ring, between corridors 10 and 1.
  • 315th OG demonstrates readiness during exercise

    Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 315th Operations Group tested their expeditionary combat support capabilities during a recent operational readiness exercise here.
  • 315th wins Aircrew Excellence Award

    The skillful response and handling of an in-flight crisis by a 315th Airlift Wing crew leads to a national level award. On Aug. 17, 2018, an all Reserve Charleston-based C-17 crew, carrying medical evacuation patients, experienced a cabin pressure malfunction then, successfully completed their mission, despite poor weather conditions and emergency oxygen system malfunctions, earning the 2018 4th Air Force Aircrew Excellence Award.
  • 315 AW wins big at AFRC comm excellence awards

    The 315th Airlift Wing won big Air Force Reserve Command’s 2018 Public Affairs Awards for Communication Excellence, according to a Nov. 2 announcement from AFRC leadership. Of the 10 categories, 315 AW Public Affairs took four, and 4th Combat Camera took two.
  • 315th SFS member selected for AFRC’s 2018 Profiles in Leadership

    A member of the 315th Security Forces Squadron was selected, this month, to be featured in the 2018 Air Force Reserve Command Profile in Leadership to be housed in the Pentagon at the end of the year.
  • Turtles’ stadium flyover helps kick off Jaguars game

    While the Jacksonville Jaguars lost their Oct. 21 home game against the Houston Texans, 20-7, the game at least started off with a thunderous roar from a Charleston C-17 Globemaster III flown a mere 1,500 feet above by the 701st Airlift Squadron aka the “Turtles.”
