The 429th Transport Squadron made a quick stop at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina March 30, 2015 prior to touching down at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario with its fifth CC-177 Globemaster III aircraft fresh out of the Boeing C-17 factory in Long Beach, California .

The CC-177 is the Royal Canadian Air Force's version of the C-17 Globemaster III flown by the U.S. Air Force.

The 429th TS was established in 1942 as a bomber squadron, which flew missions during WWII. The squadron is now based out of the 8 Wing, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton in Ontario, Canada - which is just across the lake from Buffalo.

The 429th TS started flying the CC-177 in July 2007, and the primary mission of the squadron is to provide responsive domestic global airlift to support the Canadian armed forces through humanitarian and support missions around the globe.
