JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Five Citizen Airmen with the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, here, won fiscal year 2018 Air Force Reserve Command Aeromedical Evacuation Awards, according to a recent AFRC announcement.
These awardees were selected from among the Air Force Reserve's nine Aeromedical Evacuation Squadrons and were announced by AFRC on May 7.
The 315 AES winners were:
AFRC AE operations Support SNCO of the Year - Master Sgt. Derek Green
AFRC AE Operational Support Officer of the Year - Maj. Lee Knoell
AFRC AE Aircrew NCO of the Year - Tech Sgt. Melissa Deardorff
AFRC AE Aircrew SNCO of the Year - Senior Master Sgt. Michelle Geers
AFRC AE Air Reserve Technician of the Year - Capt. Julia Lesage
"I would like to extend my congratulations to the winners who were chosen to represent the 315th Airlift Wing," said Col.Gregory Gilmour, 315 AW commander. "These are very special honors and it gives me great pleasure to see our Airmen recognized for their outstanding achievements."
The mission of the 315 AES is to train AE crews to support combat forces during contingency operations or other various conditions of heightened tension up to and including full mobilization, as well as humanitarian and peacekeeping efforts throughout the world.
